AMEN Picasso Candle: Jasmine

This candle belongs to a series produced by the French candle company AMEN in collaboration with Diana Widmaier-Ruiz-Picasso for the Musée Picasso Paris. Poured by hand in Grasse, the French capital of perfumery, each candle is made with natural vegetal wax, comes in carbon-negative mushroom packaging, and features a reusable porcelain jar emblazoned with an image of a different artwork by Picasso. “These four images represent my grandmother, Marie-Thérèse Walter,” Widmaier-Ruiz-Picasso elaborates. “I particularly wanted to include Guitare à la main blanche (1927) with the letters MT, the initials of Marie-Thérèse, because it reminds me a love letter from my grandfather to my grandmother on August 28, 1936: ‘You are always on me, MT, mother of sparkling perfumes pungent with star jasmines.’”
