Amoako Boafo: Double Deck Playing Card Set
This box set contains two decks of playing cards featuring details of Amoako Boafo’s colorful figure and portrait paintings made between 2017 and 2025, such as Cynthia (2019), Multicolored Overcoat (2021), and Tongue Out (2023). Boafo’s works celebrate the Black figure in a spirit of authenticity and joy, capturing his subjects’ confidence, style, and character. Designed by Naïla Opiangah for Amoako Boafo Studio, the set is available in three different box designs—two featuring different details of The Menu (2020) and a third featuring a detail of Teju (2016). Also included are instructions to play the studio’s favorite card game, Conkin, which was taught to the artist and his studio by Nour Shantout.
