Jeff Koons: Lips Plate
Designed by Jeff Koons in collaboration with Bernardaud, this limited-edition coupe service plate features a detail of the artist’s painting Lips (2000) from his Easyfun-Ethereal series. To make these large-scale paintings, Koons digitally collaged fragmented images of food and fashion sourced from magazines and his personal archive to construct multilayered compositions. Lips combines two disembodied lipsticked lips, a mascaraed eye, and swaths of hair with corn niblets and streams of a red-orange liquid, floating over a verdant landscape.
