Sarah Crowner: Pastoral (Greens)

Sarah Crowner created Pastoral (Greens), an intaglio print in two shades of green, in collaboration with Universal Limited Art Editions. Working in a variety of media, Crowner explores how geometry abuts gesture, materiality merges with composition, and the graphic confronts the handmade. Made of separate but related elements, her sewn canvases incorporate the varied directionality and texture of hand-painting, emphasizing their active, tactile surfaces. In this print, curvilinear shapes of green interconnect around the tapered forms of the white paper support, creating a dynamic composition.
