It reproduces a detail of Ruby’s painting, over which the artist has inscribed the exhibition information in matching shades of red and black. Each work in | (the title is an ode to verticality) focuses on a central totemic form built from strips of paint-encrusted cardboard and threatened with collapse by the explosive change that surrounds it. En Saga is named after a tone poem for orchestra by Finnish composer Jean Sibelius.
